Apple might be sailing skippy amidst the flood of financial doom, but it doesn’t mean they aren’t sensitive to the shrinking disposable income of their customers. Or you know, they just want to take the movie store metaphor a bit further. Either way, the iTunes Store now has a bargain bin for movies—a weekly selection of flicks that cost just $5.
Perfectly appropriate for the financiapocalypse, this week’s inspired selection is heavy on the Arnold—Terminator 2, Total Recall and Last Action Hero—with a dash of kickass President Harrison Ford in Air Force One thrown in for good measure. It makes me feel better just knowing that if they were real, they could shoot our way back into prosperity in just over 90 minutes.[thanks Ars
When you open up the keyboard and type in R-E-B-O-O-T your G1 will reboot and i think that is pretty funny. Now what happens if i type in “GET ME LAID” Because i seriously might consider buying this phone if that works. haha
My new iphone replacement adapter came. When it came i thought it was something totally different by the size of the box it came in. The box is so big it could probably fit 3 iphones boxes in it. Now the only difference that i found in it was that the new one had angled prongs and the old had straight(check out my pictures below). And it had a green dot. why not red or blue. wtf apple?
some youtuber has this video but i think that its pretty obvious that this is the macbook air. What do you think… Just post a comment and dont forget that this sunday im giving away a ipod shuffle for free at 8pm pst so be there or be square!!!
Inquisitr.com is reporting that an Apple retailer sent them a copy of a new price sheet that includes a MacBook at the $800 price point.
The sheet, which is apparently sent to retailers about 10 days in advance of launch, lists 12 price points (including options for MacBook, MacBook Pro, and MacBook Air) between $800 and $3,100. Older price lists only have eight trim levels. Specifications were not included on the sheet.
Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster said yesterday that if Apple chose to exclude a sub-$1,000 notebook, their stock would suffer more than from any margin impact such a device would have.
If true, this would be Apple’s first foray into the sub-$1,000 laptop market since the $999 iBook.
Thank God The RUMORS Were True….Apple is staging an invitation-only Town Hall event in San Francisco next Tuesday, October 14th at 10AM PST. It’s absolutely safe to say they’ll be showing off new laptops… and you know we’ll be there live! Will this be an unveiling of a whole new form factor? Will this “Brick” mystery be put to bed? Developers are continuing to dig away at iPhone Firmware 2.2 Beta 1, and Macrumors brings word of a few more juicy finds:
First up is Google Street View for Maps, which Android wowed the crowds with at its recent unveiling. Just like location services, however, it looks like Apple and Google will be rolling it in for iPhone users soon enough.
Next is a Settings control to enable or disable the auto-correction feature of the keyboard. Many of our own readers have been asking for this, likely to get their SMS <3, 133t, can has lolcatz, or, you know… other languages on.
Lastly, Japanese Emoji icons seem to have finally found their place in the iPhone-verse.
Still no word, however, on the delayed Push Notification Server support or many of the other most griped about, still curiously omitted features like… oh, we don’t know… cut and goram paste?!
So, are these enough new features to wet your 2.2. appetite? Want more? And how important is it to you that Apple balance the amount of new features with the risk of instability a la 2.0?
